Major renovations proposed for Flamingo South Beach

September 24, 2017

Aimco is planning to renovate portions of the North and Central Towers at the massive Flamingo South Beach apartment complex.

The biggest changes are planned at the North Tower, which will be gutted and rebuilt. Larger apartments will be created by reducing unit count from 614 to 446, in order to accommodate families. Exterior facades and landscaping will also be upgraded.

At the front of the site, a plaza open to the public will be created, with shade trees and water features. Retail spaces and a restaurant with bay views will be added, and will be open to the public.

The developer will reconfigure access at the Central Tower to solve ride-sharing access as part of the rebuild. The North Tower is condo and isn’t part of the renovation.

The project is scheduled for Miami Beach Design Board Review on October 3.  Stantec is the architect.
