The Collection proposes a second dealership in Miami – Dade
February 10, 2018The Collection, in Coral Gables, has its sights on building a second dealership in Miami-Dade County.
On Feb. 12, the Village Council of Palmetto Bay will consider the application of Collection affiliate South Dade Imports LLC to build a three-story Audi South Miami dealership. It would be located at 17405 S. Dixie Highway, 9742 Banyan Street, 17400 and 17414 S.W. 97th Ave. The site covers a full block of 2.41 acres between Dixie Highway/U.S. 1, East Datura Street, Banyan Street, and Southwest 97th Avenue/Franjo Road.
It’s in the new Downtown Urban Village that Palmetto Bay established with increased density and mixed uses.
The property currently has three single-story buildings with retail and offices for a combined 30,860 square feet. They would be demolished by the auto dealership. South Dade Imports assembled the five parcels for a combined $6 million in 2016.
The Audi South Miami building would total 191,259 square feet, with 185,255 square feet for the dealership and 6,004 square feet of ground-floor retail along Franjo Road. There would also be a 1,200-square-foot public park and two electric vehicle charging stations on Franjo Road, which is the main street of the city’s Downtown Urban Village.
Audi has been rapidly expanding its lineup of electric cars.
The dealership would have 38,799 square feet of office space, 46,523 square feet of auto workshop space, 261 parking spaces in the building, and 15 on-street parking spaces. There would also be an enclosed cash wash and detailing facility.
