The Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale will go a $7 million renovation
August 19, 2018Hotel Business News: The Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale will undergo a $7 million renovation.
Seattle-based architecture and interior design firm Degen & Degen is redesigning the resort’s 146 guest rooms and 16 suites. The project also will add eight suites at Pelican Grand.
The remodeled rooms will feature what Degen & Degen called “coastal artwork by local artisans” and “spa-inspired fixtures.”
Heidi Dennis, general manager of Pelican Grand, told the Sun-Sentinel the resort will remain open during the two-stage construction project.
The renovation project won’t affect the resort’s swimming pool or its “lazy river” water chute on the north side of Pelican Grand.
The resort, which closed temporarily last year due to water damage from Hurricane Irma, is the southern anchor of Fort Lauderdale’s north beach area.
