According to Visit Florida, the hotel industry is expected to grow by roughly three percent over the next year.
The tourism organization says there are 109 hotels under construction across the state. Another 307 are expected to break ground over the next two years.
By 2020, Visit Florida expects hotels across the state to increase by about eight percent.
Ken Lawson, President and CEO of Visit Florida, said this growth is good for Florida’s economy.
“There’s not only folks building the hotels, but workers who are constructing the hotels, supplying the hotels, but more chances for visitors to come here, to see our state, to enjoy our state from across the country, across the world,” he said.
Visit Florida attributes the boom to its increase in marketing and record visitation numbers over the last year.
